LAHORE: National team's famous opener Saeed Anwar has completed 25 years of destroying the Indian bowling attack and playing the best innings of ODI cricket at that time in Chennai, India.
The stylish batsman's unbeaten 194-run innings came at a time when it was difficult to score more than 150 runs in an innings even though the format at that time was 60 overs and that is why this record lasted for more than Remained 12 years. Batting first, Pakistan lost the opening wicket of Shahid Afridi when they were on the board for 8 runs but Saeed Anwar led the batting line and played a memorable innings of 194 off just 146 balls with the help of 22 fours and 5 sixes.

Saeed Anwar, who is considered to be one of the greatest opening batsmen of Pakistan so far, announced his retirement from his illustrious career after scoring 20 centuries in ODIs in 2003, which is unmatched by any other Pakistani batsman in this format.
Is more Saeed Anwar started his international cricket career in 1989 and scored a total of 8824 runs at an average of 39.21 in 247 ODIs, including 20 centuries and 43 half-centuries. He also scored 4,052 runs at an average of 45.52 with the help of 11 centuries and 25 half-centuries in 45 Test matches.
He is also the third Pakistani after Nazar Mohammad and Mudassar Nazar to score two consecutive centuries on three occasions in his career. He is the first Pakistani batsman to score a century on Indian soil in ODIs against India.
