Shahid Afridi Came Forward to Help the People Suffering from Water Crisis in Cholistan
KARACHI: Former national cricket team captain Shahid Khan Afridi has come forward to help the water-starved people in Cholistan.
According to News Channels, Mumtaz Cricketer's Welfare Organization "Shahid Khan Afridi Foundation" provided 18,000 liters of water in Cholistan, he tweeted in this regard.

Former national cricket team captain Shahid Khan Afridi has come forward to help the water-starved people in Cholistan. Who is suffering from pneumonia, said today that it was all thanks of his father's special touch on him and family members when he visited Lahore after being taken off life support by Pakistan International Cricket Board (PICB) at last year Indian Premier League (IPL), where he had been involved in a vicious feud with then board president Azhar Ali Abbas.
When asked what inspired his son to speak out against PICTBL, Hussain Qureshi replied: "In fact, I want everyone here to know my story."The exarch added that as chairman emeritus of Sindh Provincial Sports Council (SPSC)'s Youth Development. 2. He is currently working with his NGO Pakistan Water Partnership (PWP) to provide them free clean drinking water to the poor citizens in the metropolis.
3. In order to help them he donated 2 borewells in the area where he grew up.
4. While talking about this initiative he said that “if we can do something small and make a difference then why not?”
5. He further stated that “water is life and should be treated as a human right.”
6. And added that “it takes millions of litres of water just to produce one litre of drinkable water.”
According to News Channels, Cricketer's Welfare Organization "Shahid Khan Afridi Foundation" provided 18,000 liters of water in Cholistan, he tweeted in this regard. A statement posted on the organization website said that it had no intention for anyone else (in India) but 'the poor' and its humanitarian mission is not focused around charity projects as many have reported.
"The family asked us not report anything about their request," an officer from our office told The Indian Mirror. This was despite there being dozens who did come forward during a previous visit two years ago where Khalsa-Federation officials met with them over donations by some local charitable organizations at Jomhoor Chowk near Pune station. 2. The organization has donated 12,000 liters of clean drinking water to over 1,300 families in rural areas of Khairpur district and 4,500 litres to over 5,000 families in Tharparkar districts.
3. A total of 10,000 liters of safe drinking water were distributed among 100 beneficiaries in Nowshera while 500 gallons of potable water were given to 2,000 people at Bannu.
4." In collaboration with local administration, we have set up 25 toilets for women and 150 toilets for men. So far, we have built 15 latrines and are planning to build 50 more," said Dr Shahid Khan Afridi, chairman of the foundation that was established by his father in 1986.
5." We started our work in 1988 and have been providing services ever since. Now, we are able to provide basic facilities like toilets and schools for children, while we continue to extend our service to the wider community through health care centers and agriculture-based education programs," added Shahid Khan Afridi.
6."Afridi said that the foundation works closely with the local government to help vulnerable communities. “We work together and ensure that they get the best services possible. Our focus is always on the weakest sections of society,” he said.

Mumwazi added that Khurram Mehmood was planning to visit the village where his family lived and give donations there due as well by 10am on Saturday along with volunteers from all around Pakistan, including doctors, nurses etc.(Khan Afrah/Twitter)
The issue has sparked a huge outpouring here against TTP over their attack on Kudankulam police station which left two policemen dead last week. It also came days after Dera Sacha Saudak leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is accused for an open bomb blast at Police Station No-11 during raids near Jaipur town.
