Bangladesh is Likely to Host The Asia Cup 2022
Colombo: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC)
The Asian Cricket Council has raised the possibility of hosting the 2022 Asia Cup in Bangladesh. According to Cricket Pakistan, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had given Sri Lanka the opportunity to host the Asia Cup 2022, but due to the deteriorating political situation and economic crisis in the country, Bangladesh is likely to host the Asia Cup.
The Asian Cricket Council has decided to consider other options
Considering the current situation in Sri Lanka. Earlier, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister said that Sri Lanka is currently going through the worst period in its history. Due to political tensions between Pakistan and India, the heat wave in the UAE and Oman, Bangladesh is the only option to host the event. On the other hand, Cricket Australia is also keeping a close eye on the situation regarding the tour of Sri Lanka next month.
The Australian team has three T20s, five ODIs and two Tests to play. Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also accepted a request from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to end the ODI series from its next tour. Despite the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka, the PCB is content to play a two-Test series at the end of July-August.
