Shaheen Shah Afridi is the Future Captain of Pakistan: Darren Gough
The leadership of Lahore Qalandars was also a pleasant experience for Shaheen.
In future he will also be the captain of Pakistan team. Like Wasim Akram in pacer, he has the ability to perform for Pakistan for a long time: Former English Test Cricketer star
Lahore: Yorkshire County Managing Director Darren Gough said that Shaheen Shah Afridi is a bowler with great talents. In an interview with Cricket Pakistan website, Darren Gough, 51, said that the leadership of Lahore Qalandars was also a pleasant experience for Shaheen Afridi. He will also be the captain of the Pakistani team. The pacer has the ability to perform for Pakistan for a long time like Wasim Akram.
Another Side He also gives a positive statement about Harris Rauf:
He said that Harris Rauf proved to be a good addition to the Yorkshire squad, his performance is really commendable, pacer has not much experience in long format but in T20 cricket he played for Pakistan in Lahore Qalandars, Melbourne Stars and T20 World Cup. Performed well, I wanted him to be available for Yorkshire, he proved his choice right, fellow cricketers are also addicted to Harris, he quickly adapted to our environment and also performed well on flat pitches, Demonstrating superb bowling against Kent and also taking 5 wickets in the first innings, Yorkshire will have the services of Shadab Khan along with Harris Rauf in T20 Blast.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Super Star and I am seeing him as a Future Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is the Future Captain of Pakistan: Darren Gough, The UK News
In some parts he will be standing at my side from outside, but when I am talking to him personally it's about whether we're going in with or without any military might; because that seems just ridiculous for us. That certainly isn't what our people are saying either—that they have no intention whatsoever. We've got a lot more power than you realize right now! So let me tell ya this: This country has done pretty well out there even if things don't go as planned. If nobody else does anything after 2018.
Shah Afridi has been described as the future captain of Pakistan by former England fast bowler Darren Gough.
1. Darren Gough said that he had no doubt about who would be leading Pakistan after the World Cup. He told Sky Sports News: “I don’t think I have ever seen anyone with more potential than Shaheen Shah Afridi.
2.“He is just a fantastic player – if someone like him can come through at this age then imagine what he will become in five years time.
3.“This team has got the potential to win the World Cup but they need a leader and he comes into his own now.
4. “It was never going to be easy getting back into Test cricket but what he has done over the last few months shows that he is ready.”
5. Gough added: “When he gets out to the ball it’s like having the best leg spinner around. If he gets a wicket it changes everything.
I was struck by this statement when I read it at a recent dinner with some colleagues and friends from other countries who have recently returned to Afghanistan after visiting India in November 2011 for six months as part on an extensive trip that saw us travel more than 10 times across northern Africa, East Asia – Europe and Australia between September 2002 (to Karachi) onward through western Iran; all around Southern Iraq, including eastern Turkey; most notably past Libya into Syria during 2013-2014 season."The idea of leaving one's country so soon without much preparation or understanding about its people may be seen as naïve but those we met did not shy away nor downplay.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is the Future Captain of Pakistan: Darren Gough.
Shaheen Afridi - A man who has grown from a promising young cricketer into one of Pakistan's greatest batsmen, he now leads the team at the age of 26. His career statistics are impressive; his average of 47 in Tests could have been higher had he not missed many opportunities while batting against England in 2009 (where he scored just 19 runs in 5 innings) and 2011 (when he averaged just 9). In ODIs, however, he averages over 40, including a stunning unbeaten century against India last year. He is a good batsman but his captaincy skills are often questioned. However, the fact remains that he has led this side to three titles in five years, something no other Pakistani captain has done since Imran Khan. In 2010, he took over after Waqar Younis retired and guided the team to victory in the World Cup. Then, in 2012, he led them to their first Test series win in Australia. In 2014, he again won the Champions Trophy title and became only the second player to lead two different countries to triumph in the same tournament.
The leadership of Lahore Qalandars was also a pleasant experience for Shaheen. "It was good to get together with him again and discuss ideas," he says, mentioning that the two had discussed several political issues in Punjab province's Sharifabad district during their meeting here last month.
'He is smart' By late June — not long after Pakistan cricket legend Asad Shafiq said his country needed Imran Sheikh over Shahid Afridi as prime minister if it wanted peace (an opinion then widely shared by others) – Nawaz Sharif called on Abdul Salam Tahir Khan, one half-brother who leads militant group Lashkar-e Bilgoon alongside former army chief General Raees Musharraf.
1. Shaheen was born in Pakistan and played cricket for his country before moving to Australia where he represented New South Wales and Sydney Sixers in domestic cricket tournaments. He has played international T20 matches for both Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He holds the record for scoring the fastest century in first-class cricket – just over 12 minutes in an ODI match against England.
2. Shaheen is currently playing in the Big Bash League for Melbourne Renegades. In his five seasons with them, he has scored 1,932 runs at an average of 37.68. He was named the captain of the side in 2013. His best BBL season came in 2017/18, where he averaged 45.25 and had three centuries in 11 innings.
3. He said that working with Lahore Qalandar’s owner Shahid Khan was a great experience too. “I got my debut for Qalandars last year. I did not expect this kind of opportunity but it happened. My career started here, and I am thankful to Mr Khan for giving me this chance,” he said. When asked about the future plans, he said that he only wants to do well for his team, and improve as a cricketer.
